synopsis
An interactive VR experience about a young girl struggling with depression and anxiety. Set in a desert landscape, it presents a metaphorical world, with visuals created by artist Naima Karim, inspired by her own experience with her daughter’s depression and anxiety. The audience embarks on an immersive journey through the young girl’s mind, using hand tracking interaction, spatial audio, original music, and a haptic vest. Through hand tracking, viewers are encouraged to help her overcome her challenges. However, accepting one’s own problems and receiving help from others is not easy for someone suffering from depression and anxiety. The work sheds light on the often misunderstood reality of these conditions, and evokes empathy and understanding.
