No landscape ever made me cry.
Sujin Lee / Republic of Korea (South Korea) / 2025 / European Premiere / 5 min.
synopsis
Paper fibres, the contours of letters and the grain of celluloid compose a silent meditation on weeping. The rhythm of textual fragments on 16mm film measures the distance between emotional exposure and the need for shelter. Words take on a bodily presence but lose their hold over what is conveyed: in the silence, a space for tears begins to tremble.“When I went back and read it, it seemed too revealing, so I dismantled the text and turned it into fragments.” — Sujin Lee
