synopsis
The stop motion animation which fully exploits the phenomenon of the seeming movement – the so-called phi phenomenon – amazes us with various shapes, colours and movements our own eyesight projects onto a continuously moving object.
biography
Slavko Vorkapich (1892–1976) was born in the region which nowadays belongs to Serbia and in the 1920s he left for the USA. He worked as a montagist for big Hollywood studios. Simultaneously he was making his own films and later was appointed the chair of the Department of Film at the University of Southern California, where he lectured on the principles of filmmaking.
