Respekt Debate: Jaroslav Spurný – A Journalist Amidst Spies and StB Agents, with Jindřich Šídlo

The discussion will be based on the book A Journalist Among Spies and StB Agents, a conversation between Jindřich Šídlo and Jaroslav Spurný. Kristýna Jelínková will moderate the event. Three generations of journalists will discuss not only major scandals of the past, nation-building in the 1990s, and resistance to communism, but above all the causes of today’s situation in society and politics, as well as Russia’s influence on it. They will discuss how manipulation, disinformation, and cronyism are becoming mainstream in politics, as well as how today’s investigative journalists are coping with this state of affairs in society and politics.
