A World with AI: What Institutions Do We Need?

Artificial intelligence is developing faster than the institutions that are supposed to oversee it. What should we do? We need to ask whether today’s authorities, laws, and democratic mechanisms are ready for a society shaped by AI. This panel will focus on public digital infrastructure, democratic oversight, and new institutional arrangements. What should be handled by the state, what by the European Union, and what requires global cooperation? And how can we prevent the technological race and the interests of the biggest companies from determining the rules of the future.
