synopsis
A critical analysis of a scene of relaxation on the beach. The genre of photovideography uses the dislocation and decomposition of the static image to transform the idyll into a series of unsettling ruptures, shifts and movements that decompose the well-being into a grid of sunlit colours and crumbling surfaces.
biography
Jean-Michel Rolland (1972) is a French musician, painter and media artist. His videos, audiovisual performances, interactive installations and computer-generated films explore the temporality of so-called temporal arts. Ji.hlava IDFF has screened several of his films, most recently the final instalment of his series
Cows in 2022.
